Radiomarathon 2007 is getting ready for two of its most exciting nights of fundraising events in Sydney and Melbourne- complete with breathtaking acrobatics acts, exotic belly dancers and rock and roll!

Radiomarathon is an annual charity event for children with special needs, organised by Laiki Bank Australia. The bank covers 100% of the administrative costs thus ensuring maximum proceeds go to the charity.

The Melbourne ball is being held on 13^th of October at Grand Hyatt Melbourne and the Sydney Ball is on the 26th of October at Le Montage Sydney. The events are eagerly awaited by supporters and past guests who enjoy the great atmosphere and entertainment, main and silent auction items along with fantastic food.

“What makes these events so special is that they are always such fabulous evenings with lots of fun and great auction items to bid on, but the best part is that by attending, you are helping kids with special needs”, said Michalis Athanasiou, chairman of Radiomarathon trust.

In it’s 11^h year running in Australia Radiomarathon has succeeded in providing much needed financial support towards helping children with severe physical and mental disabilities, cancer, thalassaemia, diabetes, hearing difficulties, eye problems, leukaemia, autism, epilepsy as well as children’s hospital which deal with a variety of more obscure problems.

In Australia, Radiomarathon supports more than 30 organisations including the epilepsy foundation, Disability South Australia, The hills school Northmead, Gardeners Road public school and St Anthony’s Family care.  A record total of $325,000 was raised for 2006. The Sydney Ball raised $111,000 with Melbourne raising $110,000 respectively. Radiomarathon functions are organised worldwide and have raised in excess of $55 million dollars for children with special needs.
